ron thomas, assistant director d.b.i. you want to speak to two items. one item is with communication. when we examined all our business process during the build process or s.f. permit. one thing identified was that we currently on our forms, don't have email address requirements. an email address is most expeditious way to communicate and memorialize the time frame upon which it was issued. we decided collectively, the best thing to do is start asking for these up front when an applicant comes in. once d.b.i. collects that information, once they issue a comment, they issue c.c. to the oner. you're sending it to the design professional regardless discipline, but the owner gets to a copy. that can be immediate approval. secondly, speaking to the new permit centre, if it's brick and mortar what we're looking at, our agency has the largest number of staff there. there's a director who has been hired to handle all those issues our understanding is, health department will have a presence. the whole idea is not to have an applicant go knirl else to get their b

i will add to what ron said, going back to when we were in the early stages of our journey on epic, we hired a consulting firm to come in and evaluate our revenue cycle practices an tell us -- and tell us where our strengths and weaknesses were and one piece they identified early as weakness and an opportunity was the fact we had often inconsistent practices and in our scheduling across our department and we were not up to modern-day standard or best practices in terms of early financial clearance and in terms of gather the data we need early in the process which then will translate through the process of engagement and higher collections on the back end. when have you the data you have financial clearance and it translates to an easier billing process and capturing more revenue through the revenue cycle. that's been one of our goals. one thing about epic, the way the system's set up, you have no choice but to do the schedistration concept where you do the process together-happily for us we want to and need to doit because that's the exact strategy we identified that's a revenue cycle

beautiful commendations by all of you at our last board meeting to offer a post commendation, shire ron hewitt. i wanted to ask for many of those here to for sharon, can yu please stand? thank you for being here. i appreciate it. so there are many things that we could say about sharon. she was known to many of us as san francisco's own grandmother for social change. she was the cofounder of the tenderer loin people's congress and the founder and executive director of the community leadership came and emergency response project, which offered peer to peer empowerment and civic engagement programmes for victims of violence. she's had an impact on every neighborhood in our city from the bayview where she did most of her early work to ingleside, to the western addition and she stood up against violence, against guns and against hate and for diversity, love and peace. she was a quintessential peace-healer and maker and if she knew if she did that successfully, she had to be an organizer and irritator. where there was pain, suffering, fear of hate, she didn't look away or ignore it, she went
